This picture is a great symbol of how the great depression was while it was happening. The picture shows the main method of transportation in the early portion of the great depression. It also in my opinion, represents the big theme of To Kill a Mockingbird, which is slavery. As you can see, there is an African American in the far left corner of the picture. Another reason that I chose this picture is because the houses are somewhat resemblant to those in the movie "To Kill a Mockingbird."
